Thanks to Hollywood movies and science fiction films which sometimes tend to exaggerate for dramatic effects and cast robots taking over the whole world, we are gradually being introduced to these new terms like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Machine Learning.

While the term AI was coined in 1956, its recent popularity has hit every corner of the street, owing to the large amounts of data being generated in a jiffy. In layman terms, its like creating a new reality and integrating it with advanced technology . I mean, who could have imagined Alexa existing if it had not been for AI?

From Steven Spielberg’s movie “Minority Report”(2002) where a bunch of data scientists predict future crimes using big data analytics to self-driving cars, we have come a long way. Humanity and AI are almost inseparable and as Nathan (an AI investor) says,

“By learning from a greater volume of information than we [humans] can process in our own lifetimes, AI software gives us the ability to reach new heights when solving complex problems. AI shows us that today’s state-of-the-art solution is no longer a global maximum, but in fact only a local maximum.” — Nathan Benaich, AI Investor

It’s intriguing to witness an automated system making a decision all on its own whilst the world reveals itself on the Internet. These revolutionary changes that we are being accustomed to has impacted so many industries, from investments in Financial AI in America which focus on “quantum bits” of the information being traded to national security capturing any suspicious activity from the massive troves of data.

From celebs cashing in on crypto to being personally interested in digital arts, I recently came across this new term called “NFT” (a non-fungible token) which leverages artists & creators to upload and certify their own artwork on Ethereum blockchain to avoid being easily replicated. Driven by novelty and digital scarcity, NFT has been a one-of-kind asset in the crypto collectible world and a means of creative support. It seems inevitable , more so now than ever, that people would want to represent themselves and their aesthetics in this digital space, and minting NFT’s seems a good way to go.

From the above examples, the manner in which AI has unfolded is one of the greatest innovations in human affairs. Although, we need to address the ethical and legal conflicts concerning the transparency of these technologies, its imperative to understand that we need to master our core job with our soft skills to be a product of augmentation, not replacement, by AI.
